Flower Photos

Today I am again working on my museum project. I decided that I wanted to take photos of flowers. I was originally going to take photos of flowers of the same colour but then decided it might look better to choose two colours. I chose red and yellow. My tutor originally wanted to cut the heads of the flowers and make a square, but I didn't want to do this. After a conversation this is this is the set up that we ended up with.
I used the boom stand to hang the flowers off. This means that when it comes to editing them I can turn them around and it will look like they are standing up.
The set-up.
Throughout the day I changed the placement of
the light depending on the angle I was taking
the picture from.

I cello taped the flowers the the bar at the top
of the boom stand.

As you can see the light is behind the flowers this means that when the photo is taken their will be a pure white background. The set up meant then once the photos were on the computer If I turn them upside down they will then look like they are the right way up.

I really like this photo because the flowers are in straight line. Some of the petals are touching and I think that it is framed really well. I can’t really make out the details on the stems which I can in some of the other photos I took.

This photo is really good because I can make out the fur on the stems. I like the way that I can see the back of one photo and then some of the petals on the other two and the way that the petals from other flowers are touching.

For this photo I turned the flowers around. I really like the way that I can see a lot of detail and the way that I can’t see all the flowers.

I really like the way this main point of focus is the step. I can see a lot of detail and see the difference in texture from the stem and petal.

I like these photo’s because you can only see the petals               with a bit of the green stem.  It only fills half of the photo whilst the rest is just white light.

With these photos I can turn them any way and experiment with them in Photoshop which I really hope to do.
I uploaded all the photos I took to photobucket: http://s1323.photobucket.com/albums/u584/em_believe/Flowers/
