Visual Communications
Today was
the third week of testers. In the morning I did graphics this involved choosing
a picture (preferable your own) and tracing around it. I didn't have any of my
pictures with me so I looked through a magazine and chose a picture that
related in some way to the work that I am doing. I found a perfume ad that had
a large rose as part of the ad. Because I am using flowers in my photography
lesson this week I thought it was perfect. I wanted to get as much detail as I
could, the shape of the leaves the markings in the wood. Once I traced this
onto tracing paper I traced it into my sketchbook. I then used carbon paper to
trace it. I have the original copy, larger copies, smaller copies, a negative
copy and an acetate copy. I would really like to do this with my own images but
I don’t see how it is going to fit in with the other work that I am doing. I am
going to use my traced image for screen printing.

Used PVC glue to glue a copy of the flower
onto a piece of canvas. After 24 hours I used
water to scrub away the paper. This is what you
are left with. I scrubbed to hard in places so
the rose came of the canvas. |

3D
In the
afternoon I went to work in 3D. We had to use metal to create an image
preferably relating to other work that we have done. I decided that this was
another opportunity to work on my museum project. Because I interpreted the art
work as emotions I decided to create words. At first I struggled because of the
wire. It isn't really easy to cut or bend. I soon got the hang of it. But when
it came to melding the wire together I would always jump back on mine, even
though it mine didn't spark. But when it came to other peoples I just stood
there. After doing this tester I don’t think that 3d is for me.
