Idea's: Museum Project

After looking back at all the photos I've decided to base my interpretation on two pieces of art. The two pieces of artwork are very similar, they have the same meaning and are done by the same artist. These pieces of artwork are the 'Grey Poem 1' and the 'Grey Poem 2' created by Peter Cunliffe in 1985. The artwork is a calligraphy print that was inspired by the 'Persian four-line stanza.'

When I first saw this piece of work it reminded me of someone taking the emotions out on a canvas.

I have a multitude of ideas on how to re-create this piece of work, in different media forms.

Idea 1: Fine Art
Experiment (felt tip pens)

Experiment (paint)

These images are just two quick experiments that I tried. I could re-create the original drawing but use colour this time. I could try different materials and see which one I prefer the most. The above pictures are two quick experiments I tried, one paint and the other pens. This isn't the idea that I really want to go with. I know that i'm really no good at art so I am hesitant to try this media form. However I am willing to experiment. Instead of re-creating the image exactly I would really like to interpret it in my own way.

Idea 2: Moving Image
I could use moving image to create a sort of diary entry. One person in front of the camera ranting about how they feel. There will be a script that the actor has to follow. I could have one diary entry of negative feelings and one of positive. I could then maybe do a split screen of the two recording. There are many possibilities with moving image. I really need to think about this media form a bit more. After doing two years of media I would really like to interpret the images into another media form, this leads me on to idea 3.

Idea 3: Photography
I could use photography to show emotion. Something simple. Maybe a head shot. I can have a series of images that show different emotions e.g. happy, sad, angry, confused etc. I could use the same model or different models of different ages and gender. I could maybe showcase the end result in a square pattern, or in a line either horizontally or diagonally.

I am swaying more towards the photography idea because it is something that I haven't done before. I could also experiment with light and different shot compositions.

Over the weekend I intend to do some research on the photography idea that I have.
