I went to spend the morning in Photography. We experimented with light painting. Light Painting is a photographic technique in which photographs are made by moving a light source or the camera. To achieve a light painting you need a slow shutter speed. This is a term used to talk about the exposure times which means the length of time the shutter is open for. We had the shutter open for thirty seconds, but if need be it could be open for a lot longer. Thirty seconds doesn't seem like a long time but working in a small space in the studio makes it seem longer. Some photographs turned out really well whilst others were a failure.
Light Painting Tutorial Video - Fun With Photography
Without learning all the technical aspects of light painting and just experimenting is really fun. However if you want to get really good at it, then it will take some practice and you will need to learn some of the technical side of things. I really enjoyed being able to experiment with something that I've never done before even though I was no good at it. I like the concept of light painting but It isn't something that I want to explore in the future. Because of all the lights that we being waved about and in all directions I left the studio with a migraine.
Some photos I saw and liked;
I researched some light painting photographers and found some that I liked.
Lightfacktor is a website that showcases multiple pieces of work. I really like a lot of their photos because they use the environment around them. I like the idea of light painting done on location.
Here are some photos from the website;

Here are The Photos that I took:
Textiles
In textiles we had to create a series of drawing samples using a range of papers. We should consider the surface and texture.
Consider- Line- straight, curved, broken, thick, thin etc.
Texture- smooth, rough, eroded, flat etc.
Colour- blened, solid, broken, bright grey etc.
For this Piece of work I experimented using different coloured ink on a white background. The main two colours I used was blue and green. In some places I experimented with the use of old magazines. Once the image had dried I used the sawing machine to create more defined lines. It takes time and practice to be able to use the machine to create a straight line but I thought that I did a good job.
I didn't really see the point of textiles because it has nothing to do with what I want to.

| Here I tried to draw around Becki and turn it into a devil. I failed, because sometimes the laser light went onto Becki and not the white wall behind her. |

Because I used a white background on the previous image I decided to experiment with colour and magazine Pages.This image didn't work out as well as the others had because the ink didn't show to well on the paper. So I added pieces of cardboard to see if that would add the to effect. The ink didn't show as well on the card as it does on white paper but I thought it gave a nice effect, because the colour was duller.
I didn't really see the point of textiles because it has nothing to do with what I want to.
