These are the final three documentaries that we filmed at Dolphinholme in September. During the making of these videos I was one of the main camera operators and also the sound person.
Self evaluation
What did I do?
For these videos I did a lot of the camera work and I also did the sound for the confessions and for the interviews.
How well did I do it?
Before we went to Dolphinholme the last piece of filming I did was before the summer. I was surprised by how motivated I was to get back into the swing of things and really get some filming done.I seem to be more motivated to do more work than when I was on the BTEC. I was also surprised by how much I worked and that I just got stuck in with things, where last year I would have took a step back and only done things when someone else wasn't. Instead I took control of what I wanted to do and made sure that I was heard. This trip taught me how to work under difficult situations as 80% of the time it was raining, but I knew that the work had to be done because there wouldn't be another opportunity. I definitely think that my camera skills have improved as this year I seem to be thinking of better camera angles even though I think camera is one of my weakest points. This trip gave me the chance to do more camera work as its on the spot. There isn't much time to think, the shot could be gone in the next second. This trip had shown me how motivated I can be to get work done and how much work I can get done in a short space of time. It has also shown me that I can think on the spot were normally I would just freeze up, the interview with the owners son wasn't planned, it only became an idea when me and Becki went to film the scanning of the goats.
How can I improve?
No matter what you do there is always improvement for work. I would loved to have been apart of this project from the beginning to the end. instead for the first couple of hours, when everything was being planned I was working on my photography At the time we went to Dolphinholme I was still confused about what I wanted to do so I was attempting two pathways. Even though me thinking on the spot has improved I still need to work on it.
